I need a little AIR

Cant Not

DJ Spotlight: Stuart Prince AKA Thin White Duke

Electronic music is becoming the music of our generation. Songs are remixed constantly, whether adding dubstep or a nice trance beat to a familiar song. Stuart Prince, under the pseudonym of Thin White Duke (a David Bowie reference), has been on my radar for a minute.  He is a three-time Grammy-winning, French house DJ that takes popular and obscure songs and adds a catchy beat to them, transforming and taking the original song to a whole new level. I really started appreciating TWD when I first heard his remix of "What Else is There" by Royksopp (Its been posted twice on this blog now, if you haven't gotten the hint... download it). Gabe showed me another sick remix by him of Fischerspooner's "Just Let Go"... I couldn't find the download link for it, so check out the video.

I also downloaded twenty-something remixes by TWD and listened to them all. Check below for the download links for my favorite remixes (in order from most favorite to the lesser favorite):

Killers-Mr. Brightside (TWD Remix)

Seal-Amazing (TWD Remix)

Silver Screen Shower Scene (TWD Remix)
While your at it download the original version of Silver Screen Shower Scene by Felix Da Housecat... epic Euro-House anthem: Felix Da Housecat-Silver Screen Shower Scene (Original Mix)

No Doubt-It's My Life (TWD Remix)

Snow Patrol-Just Say Yes (TWD Remix)

Coldplay-Talk (TWD Remix)

Friendly Fires-Jump in the Pool (TWD Remix)

And in case you still haven't downloaded it yet...

Artist Spotlight: bretonLABS

Artist:BretonLABS
Category:Downtempo, Electronic, Trip-Hop

Hello, out there today I bring you BretonLABS, a group i have had my eye on for quite some time now. Hailing from London, their laid back alternative electro remixes quell my soul in a peaceful serenity that I rarely get from electronic music nowadays. They do not force hooks into your mind, like many aspiring electronic artists, but rather let them seep, naturally inducing euphoric enchantment. The combination of original tracks and remixed material brings about the right balance for this English group. Having tracks such as a comparatively upbeat remix of the Local Natives- Who Knows Who Cares vary in style and length to that of the original track Counter Balance gives them the variety needed for an extended listen. So that having been said, here's some Cheese to have along with your next Joint.
