Ginger Slams Like Shaquille

"Who the Fuck is SuperGinger?"

D. Sedine 1991 Pre Nose Job
"Gimme The Loot" has to be my favorite rap banger of all time. I could listen to the stylings of the Biggie on this track, dropping some of the best lines rap has ever seen, much farther than tomorrow’s rapture will allow. I don't even need a remix of this song to be any good to give it a couple listens. Fortunately for you, this one is absolutely drop dead dirty. The dubstep on this track isn't over encumbersome like the majority of remixes I have been hearing, nor is it divided into womps, and well, the original song. It builds well, drops better, and has me putting it on repeat for the last couple hours.
Climbing to No 1. on the Hypem Popular in a mere 3 hours, could be here for a while; but for now, as always, enjoy and party like it 19 fucking 84.

Mike Hopkins just might be Kaiser Soze

The Canucks might be have killed my Sharks, but that is merely getting me all the more excited about getting the bike out there to kill some of those Canadian berms.

I noticed the boys over at the Court of Appeals feeling a little bit like I do this NBA Playoffs, anyone from Seattle might feel the same. If you are if you aren't ,take a read as Connor Witt has some good ole' analysis on the league today in The Dilemma of a Sonics Fan in 2011

Mein Führer! I can walk!

Some aspects of film simply cannot transcend time; acting however is an aspect that can. Comedy in some ways is one of the only genres of film that can truly transcend time. The graphics and effects of horror and thrillers will, in most cases, inevitably become humorous to today’s viewers. While cinematic quality can be recognized throughout time and span generations, very few contemporary viewers look for such aspects in film; and therefore, the value of many genres of film other than comedy are lost in translation. Here however are a few comedies that have stood the test of time, see if you can see the correlation between them all.

Mein Heiner...I Can Walk!
Dr. Strangelove and How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb
Just like a fine wine, and the rest of Kubrik’s films, Dr Strangelove has only gotten better with age. Released in the heart of the “Red Scare,” Kubrick’s satire, which started initially as a drama but was realized during writing sessions to be a comedy of epic proportions, has benefitted from the distancing from the era time has provided. Time has allowed the paranoia, of which the majority of the film satirizes, to have faded enough to become infinitely more humorous. In an interview, co-writer Terry Southern explains how at points he and Stanley would simply burst into laughter routinely while coming up with what he stated was, “the most ridiculous thing a character could say, without losing all credibility.” Peter Sellers (You’ll be seeing his name a lot on this list) delivers a truly astounding performance playing the three major roles of “Group Captain Mandrake,” “President Merkin Muffey,” and the infamous “Dr. Strangelove” himself. Alongside Sellers, George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden, James Earl Jones and Slim Pickens provide the film with the perfect cast to create a truly timeless Cold War comedy.

Sorry Mitch, It's A Manifesto

It’s hardly ever that I post anything that even resembles a mash-up, I usually find the genre trite and lacking in creativity. This being said every once in a while an artist can transcend their genre and produce something truly spectacular, although I wish Mitch had left Kelis out of the mix on this one. These two mashes hail from FAMUELS and an artist simply listed as Mitch-Mash, who might just have received his break through Earmilk’s weekly #mashupmonday promotion. I cannot follow proper copyright protocol on this post but I don’t think they’ll mind, as they cannot either.

These Dudes Don't Like Skrillex
“I think you’d like me better,” if we went together. Amanda Blank…you’re all probably drawing a blank, which is too bad for her because you are probably hearing her sing right now. Listen to the two samples and tell me that Dj Vaski’s remix doesn’t elevate Blank’s song infinitely. While she may not reap the profits of Vaski’s remix it increases her fame and promotional abilities at a rate making it beneficial for her to be apart of the remix, a la La Roux. Showing how important illegal remixing and copyright infringement is to the electronic movement.
By violating copyright infringement the advancement of music has been most felt by the electronic movement. I would expect Mau5trap Records of all companies to understand this, which is why I was very surprised to hear about a string of litigations launched by the company against artists and blogs. It was not long ago that Skrillex’s “In For The Kill” Mix illegally entered the headphones of millions of Americans not only paving the way for the now Mau5trap artist, but for Dubstep in America.

"Lemonade" and No It's Not Gucci Time

If you like Crystal Castles, go download some Coco Rosie immediately, scratch that, buy all four albums. (I very rarely recommend this) These sisters have a truly inspiring cinematic life story, and their music reflects the deep undertones of their father’s Native American roots and religious practices. Described as “Freak Folk,” the music Coco Rosie has produced so far is ground-breaking; utilizing abnormal percussion instruments, such as children’s toys, their music resonates a suffering and understanding humbling to all those willing to listen. Sierra’s piano melodies coupled with Bianca’s vocal manipulations create a sobering haunting effect, which cuts to the core of the listener, well me at least, disarms all preconceptions and creates a truly inspiringly mystical experience.

Their music is not for everyone but one listen of “Werewolves” is enough to understand exactly what I speak of. I wish I could say more but my words do them no justice.
